I have owned 3 Mitsubishi VCRs in the past 15 years. I still use 2 of these on a daily basis. The only things that have been done to these are cleanings and a couple of drive belts. I will buy Mitsubishi again and again.

I also own 2 Mitsubishi TVs. One of these is almost 15 years old.

: Okay, I have finally narrowed down my S-VHS purchase to either the new Mitsubishi HS-790U series or the JVC 5400 something or other. While I don't wish to debate the merits of buying a S-VHS player, I would appreciate it if someone with any familiarity with these brands' reliability could share that info with me. As it stands now, the Mitsu model is about $100 more than the comparable JVC model. While the features are similar, I was just wondering if I should save with the JVC, or if the Mitsubishi was that much better if I should go ahead and pay the extra money? Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
