I like the Barco's in there respective price category they are more user friendly that the Sonys switching from 16:9 to 4:3 is a snap with the Sony you have to go into buried menus confusing
if you have a family who just want to get on with it,( this has been corected on a newer model for home theater use)for you it may be no problem but for them not so cool
Iris is an auto convergence system that enables the user to converge 4:3/16:9 with the touch of a button Cool..... saves a call out to the ISF techicain & requires no specail training to use
Flesh tone look better on the 808 compared to the Sony 70 model both
the same again on the Data 708 to the Sony 50 model also the picture seems softer looking.this maybe down to lense quality choice
Barcos for some reason have not had much good press and its hard to find dealers with them on show, I don't know why I can only guess,that they make great product and have poor marketing skills a bit like Philips,also they are more a comercail rather that domestic supplier
I am not putting down Sony they make great products and have high brand awareness but smaller companys are nipping at there heals.Robert J
