Help with DVD problems

Posted by Tim Carter [IP: 38.29.56.190] on October 31, 1998 at 02:51:15:

I just fired up my brand new Toshiba 2108 and sat down to watch "Twister" on the wide screen using componet vids. About 1/3 through the movie, I would get occ. audio/picure drop out. By 2/3 through the picture would freeze with severe pixilization. I ejected the dics to see if it was dirty and when I tried to reload I would get a "check disk" error message. I tried 3 other disks and the same thing would happen, either would not load or get major artifact/freezing right away. I dropped in a dts audio cd and had no performance problems. What gives ?? I thought mabye a belt had dropped which caused my DVD problems but then why should a cd work then..

Confused....
