Front vs. Rear projection TV

Using Mozilla/4.04 [en] (WinNT; I):

I am in the process of evaluating a significant upgrade to my Home Theater. I have seen many of the new "upgradable" HDTV's such as the Pioneer Elite, Mitsubishi, Philips, etc. The picture clarity is remarkable. I have also been advised by my audio and videophile friends that front projection is the way to go. My budget is in the $10-$15,000 range. The front projection system seems more "cinema -like" but the clarity of the picture does not seem as good (even with the top of the line Vidikron with a line quadrupler). Front projection also seems to require much more maintenance.

Any opinions???
