HELP ! JVC - HRS9500 VCR Bad Picture Quality ?

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows NT):

I have recently purchased a JVC -HRS9500 EK SVHS player and I am having picture quality trouble. I run my Aerial connection into the VCR and then SVIDEO SCART Y/C and RF (So I can record and watch something else at the same time) connections to my Toshiba. When I watch TV using only the TV tuners the picture the is brilliant, but when I watch it through the VCR Tuner the Picture is noticable more Grainny, this is also true for videos I have recorded or from the VIdeo store. This seems to occur whether I use the SCART (Checked out already) or RF Cable. After a call to JVC UK support they seem to think my VCR tuner is faulty. Strange Any assistance /idea would be very useful.
