Sony KL-W9000

Using Mozilla/4.01 [en] (Win95; I):

Anyone have experience with this LCD projection monitor? Any opinions? I was considering this as an alternative to a projection system. If anyone has any advice even if they haven't seen it in action, I'd be extremely happy to hear it. Is there a better financial solution?

I just want something I can use for computer and console (sega, nintendo, dreamcast, pc) games, my dvd (built into my gateway system), and general tv watching (i have a tv tuner card), in any light. Do LCD projection monitors have a severely limited life span?

Also, if anyone has this 9000 model or the 7000 model, can you tell me what you can watch and see in the Sony Wide (higher) resolutions? What I mean is, can you play computer games and view your desktop in the higher end resolutions?

I am considering a large monitor over a projector mainly because I don't want to have watch it in low light and also I'm very impressed with the smaller
(15") lcd screens I have seen so far.

Perhaps I should reconsider projectors and go that route?

thanks for your time (and hopefully comments) in advance,
gg
