Chris:

Some people can hear a difference between digital interfaces. They usually list the best to worst as follows:

1. Balanced (XLR 3 pin connectors, 1 acts as ground)
2. AT&T glass fibre (bayonet connector)
3. Coax (RCA or BNC connectors)
4. Toslink (fibre optic)

There is definitely a hierarchy! And some audio reviewers/philes claim to hear vast differences between them. I don't. I've A/B'ed toslink vs coax and can't reliably hear a difference. Which doesn't mean there isn't one! I just may not have the system and/or ears to hear that difference. (Meanwhile, I save a bundle not buying fancy digital cables!)

But try it for yourself; your Lexicon accepts both. Using the same material and player, see if you can CONSISTENTLY hear a difference. If not, then don't sweat it (that is, until you get your MC-1!)

Best,
Sanj
