I just got the new Toshiba SD-2109!

Although by no stretch do I consider myself a HT or DVD expert, this unit seems to be a significant improvement over the SD-2108 (I had 2 of these - both returned for the audio drop out problem).

My impression is that the SD-2109 has improved picture quality (black level is improved) and improved 5.1 sound, although since I had the SD-2108's, I have upgraded my speakers from CSW Ensamble IV's, to NHT Super Zero xu's (L/C/R), CSW Surround 5.1's, CSW Bass Cube 12 SW.

Although this SD-2109 did not come with an illuminated remote (contradicting the CES press release from Jan.), I feel safe in saying that this unit, at $293.00 + $20.00 2nd day Fed X shipment (www.onecall.com), is definitely worth a look.
