Sony DVP-S7700 & 24/96 digital output

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 98):

I've recently purchased a Musical Fidelity X-24K DAC. I'm thinking of purchasing a SONY DVP-S7700 to partner with the X-24K for 24/96 audio. I know that the SONY can play 24-bit/96khz-encoded DVDs. But can it output a 96khz datastream to an outboard 96khz capable DAC such as the X-24K? If not, what DVD player is the best partner to the X-24K?
