DTS problem

Using Mozilla/4.51 [en]C-DIAL (Win98; I):
Is there someone who can help me with my problem ?
My Toshiba SD-3109 DVD Player is conected to my Sony STR-DA50ES receiver
with a Monster Optical Cable.
When playing Waterworld DTS DVD or Dante's Peak DTS DVD on the DVD player and I press the audio button on the dvd player remote it tells me REQUIRES DTS ENCODER. The Sony STR-DA50ES has a built in decoder. Meanwhile on the Sony receiver panel [DTS 3/2] is being displayed. Who has been able to solve this problem ?My connection right now are Monster Optical cable from DVD player to Sony receiver and also S-video(yellow) and audio cable(red & white) from DvD player mixed out to Sony DVD receiver input. Any suggestions please email me.
