I have the Panasonic A310 and I notice that with Armageddon it skips about a minute and a half at the layer switch. I'm not sure if its the same thing you're referring to but it happens when they first arrive at the Russian space station. I know its skipped some of the video because there's a discontinuity there and if I reverse I see video that was skipped. It's the only disk I've seen that does this.
