How do I tape a DVD from my VCR?

Sounds like you don't have the DVD audio and video out connected to the VCR. The only input to the VCR you describe comes from your cable box. You need to run cables from the DVD audio and video outputs to the line inputs of the VCR and set the VCR for Line In. Another way might be to use the VCR output from the receiver, but I don't know if yours has one. Either way the results will be less than spectacular and probably not watchable becuase of the Macrovision.
