A110 and dual layer discs

In an earlier thread, I heard mention of a problem with the Panasonic A110 DVD player smoothly handling dual-layered discs. This caught my attention, since I have had some erratic behavior with my A110, but only on dual-layered discs.

Specifically, when the player skips from the first to the second layer, it has trouble finding where it should start from, and often jumps ahead 3-5 minutes. You have to watch carefully, and when it does the bad skip, back the disc up so you don't miss any of the movie.

The two discs I have had trouble with are Vertigo and the Mask of Zorro.

Can anyone else share their experiences, and better yet, does anyone know of a fix? Does Panasonic know about this, and if so are they willing and prepared to fix it?
