Pioneer 414 - Toshiba 2109 - Pansonic 120

Each has its positives, none really have big negatives in my mind. I currently have both the 120 and the 2109 and I'm trying to decide between the two. I recently took back the JVC only because it was more expensive for no apparent good reason. The 120 is fast, smooth, great picture, excellant CD playback quality, better than the 2109. The 2109 on the other hand has a dandy and very snappy 4X zoom that can come in very handy. JVC has 2X zoom but using it slows up the playback. Actually, after seeing the 120 and 2109, the JVC is out of the running just because it is slower to execute commands whether it be zoom, play, etc. What you are asking about, quality of picture, etc., I think is great on all four players (including the 414 which I bought and returned a couple of months ago). At some point, we have to keep one of them more than 30 days. Whichever we choose, we'll give up something on the extra side (zoom, CD playback, optic or coax connect, etc.) but all do a great job at what is essential, which is throwing up good video. I'm still struggling with which I'll keep. Good luck to you.
