What do I *need* to make a DVD system?

Sorry, I don't know what brands are the best but one of the other replies to this thread suggests one. Connect the DVD player to the TV, component video is best, S-video is next best, composite will suffice until part 2 below. Connect the audio cables from the DVD player to your existing stereo system. *If your TV has nothing more than an antenna coax or a pair of antenna screw terminals for twinlead, you may also need an RF modulator, costing about USD $30., from Radio Shack. This is if playing DVD's through your VCR and on into the TV results in a fading picture. Part 2-- (IMHO) What you "want" to make a DVD system but you don't really "need": Surround sound, a bigger screen TV or a 16:9 TV, an A/V receiver with component video and s-video jacks, subwoofer, line doubler, etc. A few suggestions are in another reply to this thread.
