24 bit/ 96 kHz Audio

At the moment I think only the Pioneer players and players based on them (Theta DaViD and Voyager for example) can pass 24/96 on a digital output. If your receiver can accept this you will know as you will hear the audio, if it is not 24/96 compatible you will hear nothing. The spec sheet for a receiver should tell you.

Analogue connections are only worth the effort if your receiver does not convert analogue inputs back into digital for processing or volume control. Any processing by the receiver in the digital domain will destroy any of the alleged benefit of 24/96 digital audio.
