DVD player--what's the catch?

Using Mozilla/3.01 (X11; I; HP-UX A.09.05 9000/715):

I decided a few months ago that I wanted to buy a DVD player. I wanted it to meet the following requirements

- AC3/Dolby Digital (duh...)
- DTS
- component video outputs
- ability to play video cds as well as DVDs
- ability to play computer CDRs

I seemed to have a hard time finding one that met all of my requirements. Many of the older ones didn't have DTS, most didn't seem to read CDRs, etc. The new Sony 7700 had all the right features, but at a premium price.

So, I just purchased a Pioneer DVL-919 at what seemed like a good price at an online auction (around $600). I like the bonus of being able to play my laserdiscs on it in addition to the above qualifications I was looking for.

Now, what I want to know is...what is the catch? Why is the DVL-919 being dumped on auction sites all over? I've already made my purchase, so give it to me straight. What am I missing about this player's capabilities that has kept it from being mentioned very much on this forum?
