Pioneer CLD-D504 problems

The collection dates back to 1995 and even the newest ones like Titanic, and such... they seem to leave these random blue and red "blips" or specks on the screen during playback. These specks only seem to occur on the dark areas of the image. I thought it might be laser-rot, but I have never really gotten a good idea of what causes it and stuff.

All of my laserdiscs (60+) are stored in a cool, dry place and they are stored vertically like they should be.

I don't know what else could be going on...
