I have an ExpressVu system which is the Canadian equivalent of Dish Network; in fact, they use Dish Network EchoStar receivers. I notice audio sync problems as well but it seems to be for just the first few seconds -- then the audio catches up to the video and all appears normal. I have no idea why this happens. The sound is also garbled or distorted during this first few seconds after switching channels while the audio and video syncronize themselves. Unlike Dish Network in the U.S. which broadcasts off its own three DTH satellites; ExpressVu is presently using Anik E-2, an old C/Ku band bird that is sort of outdated by today's standards. ExpressVu will be launching their own DTH satellite in May -- as soon as they can scrape together the $50 mil or so to pay Martin-Lockheed and NASA ;-)
