DVD player HELP !!!

Ok .... I have all my Klipsch speakers for a 5.1 setup. i have also ordered a Kenwood 2080 that has DD and DTS decoding. It is now time to get the DVD player so i can put all the pieces together for 5.1. Do I need to get a DVD player that also has DD and DTS decoding ??? I thought I only needed to get a receiver with the decoders but I have got the impression it is also better to have a DVD player with these features. So ... must I have a DVD with the decoders, or is it better to have decoders on both the receiver and DVD player, or is it a waste to buy a DVD with the decoders when my receiver has them ???
