intellegibilty of center channel

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 98):

I find some parts of the dialog hard to hear. Is this an inherent limitation of of Dolby 5.1? My room is quite large. 9 meters X 8 meters. Could this be the reason why some dialogs are hard to hear? I tried tri-amping my center speaker. It improved but still, the intellegibility leaves a lot to be desired. Your comments or suggestions will be highly appreciated.
