DVD Audio Signal Cutting Out

I have a Tosh. 2008 DVD connected to a Sony 825 receiver via the coax digital connection. During playback of a DVD (Top Gun) in Dolby Digital, the audio cut out several times for about 1/2 second. This was not repeatable based on the scene that was being played. Both units are new out of the box. Any ideas which one is likely to be faulty. I didn't have the time to try another movie last night. I'll experiment more tonight.
