Big trouble with Sony KP53XBR200

The basic engineering seems sound, the problems are in parts tolerence and manufacturing processes. There have been a rash of bad yokes causing geometry problems in the large screen direct view sets recently, as an example I am familiar with. Also, rough handling in shipping contributes greatly to geometry and misalignment problems as well as problems that don't reveal themselves for months. The retail outlets we service send some of the lesser damaged sets to us for repair and even the smallest little dent on the outside can mean big problems on the inside. From a tech's point of view, Sony TVs are easy to work on (generally) and calibrate. I own 2 Sony 32" sets and am happy with them. I don't have an opinion on the specific model you mentioned because I am not familiar with it. The main thing is to buy from a reputable dealer who will stand behind the product.
