This will give you the best overall sound. Your subwoofer arrangement could create lots of out-of-phase information, especially if you are using multiple amplifiers or if all the speaker wires are not the same length. Turn the sub off and see if the centre channel is OK for you. If so maybe redesign the sub or add some room treatments.
