If a TV monitor is good enough to use as a computer monitor, it will give an excellent TV picture in terms of sharpness. Unfortunately less than 1/10 of one percent of TV monitors are that good.

One of the secrets is the much finer dot pitch of computer monitors. NEC and Mitsubishi make some moderate size (27" and 35") direct view computer "presentation" monitors that accept NTSC composite and S-video. These do not have tuners (channel selectors) and as far as I know they don't have comb filters.

For these monitors you can use a VCR as a tuner. For the best laserdisk playback you would have to spend about $500. for a comb filter unless there is already one in the player.
