Hi Navaz,

My experience with the current run of Hitachi SBX78B series has not been encouraging. At this point I don't recommended it until I know Hitachi has fixed the problems with video noise.

The Sony XBR200 sets are great, but there has also been some negative reports. I have not had a chance to work on one of these units yet so my comments on this set are limited. It is not DTV ready which is one of your criteria. Just looking at the prices you quoted (which I assume are in Canadian funds) does not, IMHO, justify the expense. The new DRC circuitry does seem to work great as scan lines are not noticeable.

I must admit that I am a bit biased here. My experience with Toshiba sets in general has been extremely encouraging. I have worked on many of the new run Toshiba sets, including the TW40H80 and TW65H80. I have not had a chance to work on the TP61H95 yet. But the line doubler and DTV-readiness is the same as the TW65H80. One thing I have to give Toshiba high points for is the consistency of end results I get after calibrating these sets.

Of all the sets you mentioned I would recommend the TP61H95 at this time. There are more models just around the corner from Toshiba and others. You may just want to wait. There are new 16:9 sets from Toshiba coming but I don't know if this is a concern for you as you do not mention it.

Regards,

Leo
