Recommendations for new bigscreen TV

After reading most of these posts, im very confused. I dont understand why the Hitachi 50sbx78b looks so good in the store next to the toshiba and the sony. I cant believe that they just turned up the contrast on the hitachi and not the others. Yet, I do beleive the posts I read regarding lines with the hitachi and other problems. Everything I read says get the sony or the Toshiba. Well, Ive decided on the toshiba TP50h95 (cinema series) but have yet to order. My question is: Is it worth paying the extra $$ for the cinema series versus the TP50H60? Also, will the toshiba look as good as the Hitachi once I get it home and calibrate it? Also, Can I calibrate it myself. Thanx..
