Want to buy a rear Projection TV

I am confused. I would like to buy a 50"+ screen television. I have been told that the Hitachi ( 50UX52B ) is one of the best out there by a salesman. He told me that Hitachi has the UltraFocus System for better viewing qualities. There are so many other companies that boast that they have a better system. What do I choose. This System is approx.. $2300. If I can find something less expensive, Great, but I don't want to be sorry later. Looks like I don't really need 1000 lines of resolution.. but what do I need? I don't want to be stuck with a system that can't be upgraded. I would like to add a home theater kit within a year including a DVD player.

I have also read in some of the messages posted here, that this Hitachi set might not look so good when set up with the DVD player. Should I look at other companies. I would like a set with great viewing qualities. And should I get a 60" instead of 50"? The room is approx. 15' X 20' and the chairs will be about 8-9 feet in front of the screen. Can you help me with some sound advise?
