Projection Televisions

Hello all, we are looking to add a new TV to a home theater that we are building in our basement. I have been reading through many of the posts and thought it would be a good idea to ask for opinions regarding our choice of a set. We would like to keep the price of the unit under $2600, at 53in or less and we would be looking at actually buying the set during the fall of this year.

Right now we have been looking at several Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Hitachi models as well as the Sony V and XBR series. Could any of you offer some help in narrowing our search down from experience?
