I am also very much interested in this SONY model. My wife and I looked at the xbr and the toshiba cinema series (cn36h97) side by side and thought SONY had better detail and clarity. The toshiba was kind of dull compared to the SONY. We were also wondering whether the SONY model is worth its cost ($2299) versus $1399 for Toshiba. Can you let us know your findings, price in your area and which one is better. May be we did not know how to tune the Toshiba.
