Does SIMA Color Corrector also elimate subtitles??

I read somewhere that the SIMA Video Copymaster eliminates macrovision but it also eliminates subtitles. Can anyone verify that? Also, will the more expensive SIMA Color Corrector solve the subtitle problem? I have some foreign films that I want to record on VHS where english subtitles are key to understand. I'm going on a ski trip where the cabin has a VCR. Thanks.
