I have s Sharp XV-55 LCD projector with a Yamaha DSP-A1 A/V system. Being I have only one DVD (Sony 7000), I have run the 3 component cables directly to the projector. I have the S-Video (and composite) output from the DSP-A1 also running to the projector. In this way the projector can select between the 3 cable component input from the DVD or the S-Video input from the DSP-A1 (VCR, DSS, Laser Disk). All my video cables are 50 foot in length (projector to DSP-A1). I notice a little better color from the component input verse the S-Video input. The composite input is terrible looking. I also use a Cygnus Optical lens to remove any screen door visible pixels on my 120" da-lite screen.
