Pierre, check the date of manufacture on the back of your '2008. Toshiba implemented the firmware fix for the audio dropout problem on machines manufactured after 11/25/98. Toshiba is actually quite responsive WRT the upgrades. You can contact them at Customer_Support@tacp.com to let them know you wish to return the unit for upgrade.
