Pioneer DV-414 and Sony 9000es Posted by frank robison [IP: 209.215.135.97] on January 28, 1999 at 13:25:32: Ok, someone help me out here, my questions are: 1. I know that the SPDIF spec does not allow for 24/96 digital signals, but I thought I read somewhere that Pioneer DVD products will not downconvert any digital 24/96 signal. Does the DV-414 pass 24/96 through its digital outputs or is it analogue ouputs where the 24/96 is passed, or both?. 2. The Sony 9000es accepts 24/96 on some of its digital coax and optical inputs. If this is the case and it "supposedly" does not downconvert, how does it accomplish the 24/96 sampling when it only has 1-bit D/A converters? Thanks for any info. frank robison
