SD-3108 Bass Management

I have a new Toshiba SD-3108 and am using its built in decoder. When selecting "NO Sub" does the unit send the LFE channel to the front mains. Note front are selected as large.

I have Polk RT-1000p's with small built in powered subs. I could modify speaker connections and use them as a sub, would this be a better solution?
