FYI, I think that the JVC 501 has only a Toslink digital out which kinda limits it's flexibility IMO.

This model is fairly new and therefore, it does not much of a track record yet. The Toshiba SD2108/2109 has both component video and DTS outs. Just make sure that the 2108 does not have audio dropouts or a flashing white line. These are the only two concerns that I have with my 2108.
