Yes there are several players, mostly Pioneers and transports based on them (Theta DaViD and Voyager) that will output 24/96 on their SPDIF output puts (I have a DaViD and I have confirmed this with Theta). This is not a copyright issue but an issue with the DVD or SPDIF spec which supposedly prevent 24/96 being output on an SPDIF output...but Pioneer and Theta are definitely doing it...
