Panasonic CT-32XF55

Using Mozilla/4.6 [en] (Win98; U):

I have just got a panasonic DTV compatible CT-32XF55. Because of the internal line doubler, the picture looks better than the SONY XBRs. However when I played the video essential disc, I noticed two things.
1. when displaying the vertical color bars, the lines all seem to bend toward the center at the top 1 inch of the screen.
2. when displaying the dots, almost none of the dots are in perfect round shape. They all have a tail hanging.

I haven't seen these tests on XBR TVs, but the SONY literature certainly makes a big deal about the precise focusing of the FD-trinitron tube. Is the FD trinitron tube truely much better than the XF panablack tube?

I understand every tube has some degree of inherited imperfection, but I just don't know what is the acceptable amount. Shall I return the TV or call for service? Your opinion and advice is greatly appreciated.
