COMPOSITE TO S-VIDEO CONVERSION

Although there are converters (tributaries.com) that will take the rca plug and separate the Y/C into an s-video input , I think what your asking is 'am I able to get a native s-video signal?' Not knowing the product, my guess is no. To get the benefit of s-video the signal needs to be on separate lines BEFORE it goes out as a video input. A converter will try its best to separate the brightness, and the color (aka Y/C) in-line. The reviews on doing this are mixed from what I've read. A converter is best used for an HT receiver where a user wants all inputs in s-video, ostensibly to keep from having to use separate inputs (video1 video2,etc) on the TV to view the input.
