Sony DVP-330 frame

Posted by Mike Farwig [IP: 208.162.124.209] on July 26, 1999 at 12:33:12
Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt):

I own a Sony dvp330, and I need to know if the problem I am experiencing is hardware or software related.

While watching "The Hunt for Red October" and "Enemy of the State", I am able to repeat the video "missing" on a frame. Like it being out of snyc for a frame. No audio distortion (optical connection). The disks seem clean to me. Also did it on a brand new copy of "Friday", on the music video by Ice T. Is my software dirty, or is my Sony DVP-330 defective?

I have not looked at the firmware revision yet.

The TV I am using is a Zenith 25" w/ S- video.

It always happens on fast moving scenes. Seems like the player is "overloaded".

It is NOT the panning artifacts that can happen on DVDs.

Please help.

Thanks,

Mike Farwig
