My Sony 27" just died, I think. Advice?

About six years ago my 25' Sony XBR did the same thing (well... maybe the same thing!). I had a service guy come and drag the set away. Several days later he brought it back. A couple of very small electronic bits had cooked. Worked fine after the fix. Sorry I don't remember what fried or how much it cost. But I do remember that, at the time, it seemed well worth the repair cost.

That set worked for 15.5 years. Well, it still works but I just gave it away and picked up a 27' Wega two days ago (picture was gradually growing darker). Now a new Wega just might solve your problem too!
