Component vs. S-video output

Posted by David Foley [IP: 198.76.102.24] on July 27, 1999 at 12:43:05
Using Mozilla/4.06 [en] (WinNT; I ;Nav):

I just bought the new Sony KV36FV15 and then went and got the Sony 530 DVD player the next day. The salesman was talking about the advantages of the next better model player, which was $100 more, and said that it had "component" video output which would be better with my TV than just the S-video conection. Sounded like it was probably mostly B.S. to me and bought the 530. Was I right?
