IScan Line Doubler Jerky Motion
Posted by Allan [IP: 157.123.136.57] on July 27, 1999 at 16:07:18 (copied from another forum) Have any of you IScan owners noticed this: A slow uniform pan or objects moving uniformly across the screen occasionally gives a slight subtle jerk as if a video frame was dropped every now and then. This is with live video (non-film; red LED showing); I did not notice any with film (blue LED) source. When I replayed the passage, the jerk might be in a different place, or might not be there. Example: One of the Video Essentials passages with a silver passenger train moving to the lower right corner of the screen. Another example, a city scene in Video Essentials with cars moving from left to right across the bottom edge of the screen. For comparison I connected the source (laser disk player) directly to the monitor S-video jack, bypassing the DVDO IScan, and I did not see any jerks. Monitor used: Sony KL-W9000 LCD.
