ISF calibration discovers problem
Posted by Steve C. [IP: 216.50.33.102] on July 28, 1999 at 08:49:22 The ISF tech was doing a calibration last night of my recently installed Pioneer DV-09 into a Faroudja DVP-2200 into a Zenith Pro900 projector and we discovered a bizarre problem. In the RGB mode from the 2200, somehow the projector was not producing enough green with the result being that the gray shades had a purplish or violet cast to them. As a result, he couldn't complete the color temperature calibration of the projector. By a process of elimination, we narrowed the problem to either the brand new Faroudja DVP-2200 or the projector since the color temps were perfect when we ran S video either through the MC-1 or directly to the projector. Of course under either of these set-ups, the doubler is out of the system, which is unacceptable. So my question is, has anyone else experienced a "low green" output with a Zenith Pro900, and if so, what was the resolution? Anything else we should be trying here to resolve this? I'll be getting a loaner line doubler to see if the same thing happens with it, in which case it's safe to say the problem is with the RGB input on the Zenith.
