Component vs. S-video output

Fortunately I had an opportunity to compare side-by-side the picture quality using S-video and component inputs from a big 110" diagonal screen projected from the Sony W400Q LCD projector. A significant difference is more noticeable on a bigger screen than from a 32" TV. Perhaps this is where most people will not notice the difference between the two. Anyway, here's my results: 1. S-video gives smudges to red colors and colors seem to "blend". I did a comparison by freezing a scene from a DVD. I can see subtle difference between S-video and component video (component being better) and a drastic difference when comparing both with composite videos.
