Help Samsung DVD

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt):

Here is my problem. I have a Samsung 905. When I am trying to play movies it will all of a sudden start skipping and stop. Then I will have to cut the thing off for a minute or two and it will work again. I live in a verey hot and humid area with no A/C. Could it be the heat and humidity or is this thing broke and needs to go back to the store to trade for another.
