Is an ISF technician necessary??

On top of knowing exactly how to access the service menu of your TV, and understanding exactly what adjustments do what, an ISF tech also carries an expensive piece of equipment called a color analyzer. Without it, you cannot set your TV's grayscale to be perfect (it's not something you can do "by eye").

The VE disc will only display patterns, but it won't set your TV for you. It won't coverge your picture, nor access service settings, etc etc etc. It only contains patterns - what are you going to do with those patterns??

It'll cost you about $250 for an ISF visit. Is it worth it? Your call...
