Vertical Compression Retrofit?

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows NT; AT&T WNS5.0):

Is anyone aware if it is possible to get the Vertical Compression Feature of the Wega XBR250 on the earliar XBR200?
Pehaps by way of an IC or board replacement. Any info would be appreciated.
