i've had the kp53v80 for about a week & 1/2 now, and it has been great unit. i also had the same concern, i was all geared up, ready to buy the 53xbr200, but it looked too "bulky"- the new "chasis" on this 53v80 looks alot better than last years model. -as for picture quality, it doesn't match up to the xbr- but i am very happy. i'll give it a few more weeks before i'll take the "avia" set up disk to it-
