SONY WEGA XBR, digital cable?

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98):

Just got my wega a couple of weeks ago, and is simply the best money can buy. My question is, when television changes to a digital signal will my wega work or will I need a converter box? What exactly is going to be the changes in cable ex(digital, HD or what) and when? Thanks for the info.
